Ralph Hunt FAIM – Chairman
Ralph Hunt is the vice-president for consulting (Japan and Asia Pacific) for Oracle's
Global Utility Business Unit. He recently left Markinson Business Solutions having
served as chief executive officer during more than two years of rapid growth, doubling
the size of the business both organically and by acquisition.
Ralph has spent the last 25 years working in sales, consulting and management roles
with leading IT companies around the world. He has previously held positions as
vice president of Mincom IT Contractual Services, general manager (Queensland) of
Hitachi Data Systems, and CITEC's general manager of sales and marketing.
Ralph sits on the Strategic Advisory Board of the Griffith Business School. He is
a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a member of the Advisory
Panel of the Queensland iLab.
John Hoey FAIM – Director
John Hoey is a career banker, with more 30 years of experience spanning all facets
of banking and financial services. He was general manager of the Commonwealth Bank
(Queensland and the NT) until December 2009, managing a considerable business across
metropolitan and regional centres, including 165 branches and 2400 staff.
John is a Fellow of the Finance and Securities Institute of Australia, has been
a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management since 1998 and was chairman of
the Australian Institute of Management from 2006 to 2009. John is widely known in
corporate Queensland for his inspirational, strategic and insightful leadership
and is a career mentor.
Selwyn Snell FAIM – Director
Selwyn Snell is the former chief executive officer of BioProspect Ltd, a publicly
listed biotechnology company active in the discovery of new products for the pharmaceutical
and agrichemical industries. He was also chief executive officer of IAMA Limited,
which was Australia's largest retailer of agricultural merchandise.
Before joining IAMA, Selwyn was based in Japan as president and managing director
of Zeneca KK Limited. He was also a director of Astra Zeneca KK Limited, and managing
director of Teijin Agrochemicals KK Limited.
As well as being the former chairman of TheCyberInstitute's board, Selwyn is the current managing
director of Barawyn Pty Ltd. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.
Carolyn Barker AM FAIM – Director
Carolyn Barker joined the Endeavour Learning Group in May of 2010 as chief operating
officer and CEO-designate. Her task is to lead this growing organisation to
become a dominant player in the Australasian natural health and wellbeing private
education sector.
Previously, Carolyn was the chief executive officer of the Australian Institute
of Management (Queensland and NT) and managing director of TheCyberInstitute Pty
Ltd.
Under Carolyn's leadership for over a decade, the AIM Group grew into a cohesive
network of commercially focused divisions, providing education, publishing, online
learning and information services to corporate and government clients Australia-wide.
Carolyn started her career as a journalist and newsreader, after which she owned
and operated businesses in the advertising, marketing and professional services
sectors.
Carolyn is chair of the Brisbane City Council's Business Advisory Board and the
Griffith Business School Advisory Council, and she is a director of Shine Lawyers.
She has also been chair of The Queensland Orchestra and deputy chair of the Brisbane
Powerhouse Centre for Live Arts.
In 2005 Carolyn Barker was awarded a Member in the Order of Australia for her service
to business and the arts.
